Dr. Rachel Ahearn

Meet Dr. RACHEL AHEARN PT, DPT, OCS, CSOMT

Hello! My name is Dr. Rachel Ahearn and I am an experienced physical therapist specializing in pelvic floor and orthopaedics. I bring a high level of knowledge, passion, and compassion towards the patients I treat. I am originally from Northern Virginia and attended the University of Florida both for my undergraduate and doctoral degrees. I have a Bachelor of Science in Applied Physiology and Kinesiology and received my Doctor of Physical Therapy in 2017. After graduation I moved to Houston, TX and completed my Orthopaedic Physical Therapy Residency in 2019. I am a board certified Orthopaedic Clinical Specialist (OCS) and have additional specialized training in pelvic floor rehabilitation through the Herman and Wallace Institute. In addition, I am a Certified Orthopaedic and Sports Manual Therapist (CSOMT) and am certified in dry needling. I have a vast range of expertise treating a wide variety of diagnoses, with special interests in pelvic pain, pregnancy and postpartum, and dance medicine.

I stumbled upon the field of pelvic floor physical therapy after residency training and immediately knew that I had found my passion. Continuing education is a strong value and interest of mine, which I nurture by serving as a teaching assistant for the Herman and Wallace pelvic floor courses. The joy of helping my patients feel as if they have their lives back is deeply rewarding to me and drives me towards wanting to help as many people as possible. I strive to create an environment of comfort and ease with my patients and believe that one of my greatest strengths is active listening and ensuring that my patients feel heard and understood.

My husband and I just moved to Nashville, but it already feels like home! My hobbies include spending time with my family, friends, and two cats (Snow and Cleo). I also enjoy working out, attending ballet classes, and relaxing beach vacations. I hope to meet you and be a key part of your journey towards recovery!

Dr. Rachel treats patients at our Goodlettesville location inside Roots Collaborative Care on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and in-home on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
