Frequently Asked Questions

Does Archer Physical Therapy take insurance?

We do not directly take insurance but we do offer a Superbill that you can use to submit for reimbursement from your insurance company. We are choosing to operate outside of insurance at this time so that we can offer personalized care that isn’t dictated by insurance restrictions.

What is the first session like?

Our first session is 90 minutes and starts with a conversation around your symptoms and/or goals for using Archer PT for your pelvic floor therapy needs. We will cover your history and discuss anything that feels important for us to know before we begin. This is a great time to feed a baby if you have a newborn!

Next we move on to the assessment. We will take a look at your posture, how you move, and do a thorough examination of the area of concern and surrounding joints. Sometimes this includes a pelvic examination of your pelvic floor muscles and how they function. This does not have to be part of the evaluation if this part makes you uncomfortable. All of our therapists are trained to treat your conditions without having to perform a vaginal exam if necessary.

After the examination you and your therapist will determine a plan that feels right for you. This includes stretches and exercises, a plan of care that determines how often you’ll meet and where, and address all of your goals for PT.

How should i pay for my sessions?

We take all major credit cards as well as Health Savings Account and Flexible Spending Account cards. This is a great way to use any unused remaining funds on your card at the end of the year!

Do I need a doctor’s referral?

No! Physical therapists have direct access in the state of Tennessee to evaluate and treat patients for a full 30 day plan of care without a referral. If you need continued physical therapy after 30 days we will communicate with your preferred medical professional about a need for continued care.
